3-6 Months Before Lease Contract Ends
It’s best to start preparing your vehicle for lease-end 3-6 months before your contract ends. This makes it easy for us to assist you when scheduling your inspection, making repairs, collecting documents and most importantly, choosing one of the paths below:
1. Return your lease to Bianchi Honda
You can return your leased vehicle to Bianchi Honda, by appointment, whether you leased it from us or another Honda dealership. Familiarize yourself with the necessary steps of the turn-in inspection that needs to be done prior to you returning your vehicle. The inspection can be done up to 2 months before your lease contract ends.
2. Purchase your lease vehicle
Ready to become the owner of your leased model? There’s no need to worry about setting up a vehicle inspection or dealing with excess damage or mileage cost when you decide to purchase your lease. When you’re ready to complete this step, get in touch with our Inventory Manager, who can help you with this process.
2 Months Before Lease Contract Ends

Your returned lease will require an inspection. The service is free and can take less than an hour, depending on the excessive wear and usage status from your vehicle. We recommend using SGS for several reasons:

Scheduling
Inspections should be scheduled 2 months before your lease contract ends to allow you time to complete requested repairs. Appointments can be made online at SGS North America or by calling 1-800-340-4080. Have the following items on hand:
-
- Honda Financial Service Account Number (located on your monthly bill).
-
- Vehicle Identification Number (located outside on driver’s side of vehicle in bottom corner of window).
The Inspection
Attending the inspection is highly suggested, but you are not required. Your inspector will put together a report covering 3 major areas of your Honda:
- Body & Wheels
- Interior
- Engine
They will examine over 182 components of your vehicle including:
- Transmission
- Power components (windows, antenna, steering, locks, etc.)
- Wheels, tires, brakes, and suspension
- Paint, body and frame
- Seats, upholstery, and carpets
- Airbags and restraint systems (seat belts)
- Lights (turn signals, brakes, headlights)
- Climate control and defogger
They will take your vehicle for a test drive. You will receive a copy of the report upon signing. A detailed Preliminary End of Lease Liability Statement will follow that covers the estimated costs of reported excess wear, mileage usage and all other items.
Taking care of the Repairs
It’s your choice where you choose to have your repairs made, but it’s best to get professional advice before selecting a repair center other than an authorized Honda Dealership. It is required by your lease contract that Honda Genuine Parts are used during repairs.[1] Receipts should be kept and will be collected when your vehicle is returned. If you choose not to have repairs done, you will receive a bill that covers all damage once vehicle is turned in.
$500 Waiver
Loyal Customers[2] will receive a $500 Excessive Wear and Use Waiver from Honda Leadership Leasing when purchasing or leasing their next Honda within 30 days prior to or after the turn-in date. Don’t forget to check to see if you qualify for an additional waiver. [3] You may also be eligible for your turn-in fee to be waived. [4]
Vehicle turn-in
A final inspection will be performed when your vehicle is turned in. Your car will be checked for all occurrences of damage including time after your prior inspection. Sometimes defects and malfunctions may arise that aren’t detectable during prior inspection. You are liable for these damages. We encourage you to keep an eye on your bill and consult a professional when a situation like this arise.
At this time, you are responsible for making all payments on time* (even if your dealership has agreed to make payments).
